Pantone is the "global authority" in the color world and each year they predict, with great accuracy, the newest hottest colors for the year. This year they have named Mimosa as the Color of the Year, 2009.
Yellow draws us in and comforts and warms us. As we face the uncertainty of the economy and political changes this year brings, we look for assurance. Just as the assurance the daily rising and setting of the sun brings to us, Mimosa brings in warmth and cheerfulness to family rooms and kitchens. Yellow brings the outdoors in and can make a room appear larger, warmer and inviting.
